PENGARUH QUENCHING DAN VARIASI SUHU TEMPERING TERHADAP SIFAT MEKANIK PADA BAJA ST 37
This study aims to determine the effect of variations in tempering temperature on the quenching process on the hardness level of ST 37 steel. The research method used is an experimental method. Specimens with a diameter of 25 mm and a thickness of 20 mm. Researchers used the quenching method with a holding time of 10 minutes and cooling using a salt solution and variations in tempering temperature. The mechanical properties tested were hardness properties, using the Vickers test. The highest hardness value was obtained by cooling treatment with a tempering temperature of 400 °C with a value of 412,595 HV. Specimens that received quenching and tempering treatment of 600 °C had the lowest hardness value of 225,534 HV. The keyword variation of tempering temperature in the cooling treatment process affects the hardness value of ST 37 steel. Keywords: Quenching, holding time, Brine solution, Tempering, Vickers.
