Ameloblastoma was an odontogenic epithelial tumor that can be envolved from the residual of dental lamina, the epithelial layer from odontogenic cyst or basal cell at oral mucose. It developed slowly, asymptomatic, and local invasion. In radiology, ameloblastoma is divided into three shapes, those are conventional or multycistic type, unicystic type, and peripheral type with diverse of hystopatology. It can happened at children to elderly and usually showed at mandible. Ameloblastoma more usually appear than other odontegenic tumor, research about ameloblastoma still rare in Palembang and also the complication effect of ameloblastoma that can be lead to dead, so researcher interest to make a research about prevalence of ameloblastoma in RSUP Dr. Mohmmmad Hoesin, RS A.K. Gani, and RS Muhammadiyah in period Januari 2008 to Desember 2012 This research design was a descriptive survey in order to investigate the prevalence of ameloblatoma based on gender, age, and location in RSUP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang, RS Dr. A.K Gani, and RS Muhammadiyah in period Januari 2008 to Desember 2012. The results of this research showed that of the 90.905 patients who came for treatment to dental clinic on RSUP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang, RS Dr. A.K Gani, and RS Muhammadiyah in period Januari 2008 t o Desember 2012, there 41 patients sujfer with ameloblastoma where patients with female sex totaled 23 (56.1%) more than male who are 18 patients (43.9%). Patient with 15-49 years old about 24 cases (58.3%), while based on location was higher in left posterior mandible about 11 cases (26.83%).
