This study aims to determine the perception of students of the PPKn FKIP Study Program, Sriwijaya University on the existence of Palembang Puppet Arts. This study uses a quantitative approach with a descriptive method. The population in this study amounted to 328 people and used the Nonprobability Sampling technique, namely Purposive Sampling by determining the sample based on certain considerations, so the number of samples in this study became 92 people. Documentation, questionnaires, and interviews were used as data collection techniques. Based on the results of the study, it was shown that the perception of students from the PPKn FKIP Study Program, Sriwijaya University, was in the negative category, both in terms of artistic creations, artistic creations, works of art, and in terms of the basic purpose of art, the category was positive. This can be proven by the results of the study which showed negative criteria, namely 68.45%. The results of these criteria scores have been determined previously that a score of 70% has a positive perception criterion, while a score below 70% has a negative perception criterion. So that the perception of students of the PPKn FKIP study program at Sriwijaya University on the existence of Palembang Puppet Arts is negative.
