KEANEKARAGAMAN MAKROFAUNA TANAH DI BERBAGAI UMUR TEGAKAN TANAMAN KELAPA SAWIT DI KELURAHAN TALANG BETUTU PALEMBANG DAN SUMBANGANNYA PADA PEMBELAJARAN BIOLOGI
Soil macrofauna is a group of soil animals that measure more than 1 centimeter and their presence affects and is influenced by the environmental conditions of the soil. This study aims to determine the diversity of soil macrofauna found in various ages of oil palm plant stands and to determine soil macrofauna that can act as bioindicators of the soil quality of oil palm plantations in Talang Betutu Palembang Village. The study was conducted from January - March 202 on the oil palm plantation of Talang Betutu Village, Palembang. The research method uses a descriptive-quantitative method to describe the diversity of soil macrofauna that habit every age of oil palm plantation stands and show soil macrofauna that acts as bioindicators of the soil quality of oil palm plantations in Talang Betutu Village, Palembang. The data collection technique uses an exploratory method and location determination using the random sampling method. The results showed that the highest diversity of soil macrofauna was found in areas with a stand age of 14 years, namely as many as 15 species. This area has a soil temperature ranging from 28-30 Celsius degrees, soil moisture ranging from 40-70%, and a pH of 6.34. The lowest diversity of soil macrofauna is found in areas with a stand age of 8 years and as many as 7 species. This area has a soil temperature ranging from 30-32 Celsius degrees, soil moisture ranging from 15-40%, and a pH of 5.15. The results of this study also found 6 species of soil macrofauna that act as bioindicators of soil quality, namely Pontoscolex corethrurus, Pheretima sp., Geophilus flavus, Odontoponera denticulata, Solenopsis fugax, and Macrotermes gilvus. Keywords: soil macrofauna, bioindicators, plantations, oil palm
