ABSTRACT This study aims to determine the learning motivation of students who are beneficiaries of the Program Indonesia Pintar (PIP) Pendidikan Tinggi at the Mechanical Engineering Education Study Program, Sriwijaya University, using quantitative and qualitative descriptive analysis methods. Quantitative data were obtained using a questionnaire and analyzed using SPSS software. Meanwhile qualitative data obtained through interviews and documentation studies. The results of this study indicate that the majority of students learning motivation levels for receiving PIP Pendidikan Tinggi at the Mechanical Engineering Education Study Program are good, but there are still students whose learning motivation levels are not good. Researchers recommend that students who are still not well motivated to learn can be assisted by external motivation in the form of enthusiasm or advice from people closest to them and educators.
