PERKEMBANGAN KESENIAN TEATER TRADISIONAL DULMULUK DI KOTA PALEMBANG TAHUN 1982-2020
This research entitled "Development of Dulmuluk Traditional Theater Arts in Palembang City in 1982—2020". The problem raised is how the history and development of Dulmuluk Traditional Theater Arts in Palembang City in 1982-2020. The aim of this research is to explain the history of Dulmuluk traditional theater arts in Palembang City in 1982—2020. Method used in this research is historical method through some stages, namely heuristics, source criticism, interpretation, and historiography. The data collection stage was accomplished through literature studies, documentation, and interviews. The analysis is assisted by the approach of anthropology and sociology. The result of the research showed that Dulmuluk traditional theater is a traditional theater typical of South Sumatra which was born in the city of Palembang. Dulmuluk traditional theater arts had developed from the aspect of the number of the theater studio groups, development and changes in the artistic elements of dulmuluk performances. The number of theater groups, which were 38 groups in 1996 had decreased again as seen from the data of Dulmuluk festival in 2006, there were still 9 groups and 5 groups in 2015. Starting in 2015 there is only 1 theater group, Harapan Jaya studio that still exists today. Changes or adjustments contained in the artistic elements of dulmuluk theater performances such as acting, decoration, fashion, make-up, lighting, music, and movement. The factors that make this theatrical art develop are derived from performers of the arts, the government and the people of Palembang city.
