ESTIMASI BIOMASSA DAN STOK KARBON TEGAKAN DI RUANG TERBUKA HIJAU FAKULTAS PERTANIAN PERTANIAN UNIVERSITAS SRIWIJAYA MENGGUNAKAN METODE NDVI
Green open spaces have very important roles in reducing the impact of global warming because of its ability to sequistration green house gases (GHG). Therefore, efforts to maintain and increase forest cover, are the key to increase atmospheric carbon sequestration. The purpose of this study was to estimate plant biomass and carbon stocks under various types of land cover which are collectively called Green Open Spaces at the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sriwijaya. This study was conducted from November 2021 to February 2022. The land cover types were classified into (1) Rubber Plantation, (2) Oil Palm Plantation, (3) Mixed Land Use, and (4) Arboretum. Soil sampling points in each vegetation type were determined at random. The purpose of this study was to estimate biomass and carbon stock of stands under the Green Open Spaces at the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sriwijaya using the NDVI Method. The results of this study indicated that the highest biomass and carbon stock (424.16 tons/ha and 299.36 tons C/ha, consecutively) were found in the Arboretum, Current study did not find a correlation between NDVI values. Keywords: NDVI, Biomass, Carbon Stock
