SALURAN PEMASARAN DAN PENDAPATAN USAHATANI CABAI MERAH (CAPSICUM ANNUM L.) DI DESA BATUN BARU KECAMATAN JEJAWI KABUPATEN OGAN KOMERING ILIR
The horticulture sub sector is an important crop that is needed by the community and contributes to agriculture in Indonesia. Red chili is one of the horticultural commodities that has a high enough market demand, both for the benefit of the domestic market and exports to foreign countries. South Sumatra is one of the centers of red chili production in Indonesia. Ogan Komering Ilir Regency is one of the regencies whose residents work in the agricultural and plantation sectors. Batun Baru Village makes red chili plantations as a source of livelihood. This study aims to: 1) describe the marketing channels of red chili and analyze its efficiency in Batun Baru Village, Jejawi District, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency; 2) Knowing and analyze how much the farmers' income from their red chili farming activities. This research was carried out from April 2022 to completion in Batun Baru Village, Jejawi District, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency. The research location was chosen deliberately because this location makes red chili farming a source of community income. This research was conducted using a survey method by filling out questionnaires which were answered through interviews with farmers and marketing agencies. The sampling method of farmers used a simple random sampling method using the formula from Slovin and obtained a sample of 30 farmers for marketing institutions using the snowball sampling method. Based on the results of the research that has been carried out, it can be concluded several things: 1) There are three marketing channels for red chili in Batun Baru Village, Jejawi District, with the marketing institutions involved consisting of wholesalers (agents) - retailers - the final consumer, 2) The most efficient red chili marketing channel is the third marketing channel because it has values that meet the criteria, namely the smallest marketing margin value, the largest farmer's share percentage and the smallest profit ratio value compared to the first and second marketing channels, 3) Average income The average received by farmers in conducting red chili farming in one growing season in Batun Baru Village, Jejawi District is profitable, which is Rp. 14,804,122.13 per arable area per growing season or Rp. 12,632,377.70 per hectare per growing season.
