IDENTIFIKASI CAPAIAN BIDANG KOGNITIF ANAK USIA (3-8) TAHUN DI TEMPAT PEMBUANGAN AKHIR (TPA) 2 KARYA JAYA, KECAMATAN KERTAPATI, KOTA PALEMBANG
This study was conducted with the aim to identify the percentage of indicators of cognitive development of children aged (3-8) years in Landfill (TPA) 2 Karya Jaya, Kertapati Subdistrict, Palembang City. The population in this study was children aged (3-8) years who participated in non-formal learning activities at The Sriwijaya Suburban School with a selected sample of 13 children using purposive sampling techniques with the consideration of children who actively participated in non-formal learning of Sriwijaya Suburban School in the landfill environment (TPA) 2 Karya Jaya, RT 29, RW 10 in the last three months. The type of research used is quantitative descriptive. Data is collected through observation. Aspects of development identified are cognitive with 3 scopes of development, namely learning and problem solving, logical thinking, and symbolic thinking. The results of this study get an average score of 80% in children aged (3-8) years in Landfill (TPA) 2 Karya Jaya with the category of development develops as expected (BSH), With the details of the age group studied, namely the age group (3-4) years with a value of 73% with the category of developing as expected (BSH), (4-5) years with a value of 82% with a very well-developed category (BSB), (5-6) years with a value of 83% with a very good developing category (BSB) and (7-8) years with a value of 81% with the category of developing as expected (BSH). It can be concluded that the percentage of indicators of cognitive development of children aged (3-8) years in landfill (TPA) 2 Karya Jaya develops as expected (BSH) and continues to need stimulus so that the stages of cognitive development of children in the suburbs can develop optimally and according to the stages of their developmental age.
