Rice (Oryza sativa L.) is a food crop and occupies an important position in the life of the Indonesian economy. Fertilization is the activity of adding nutrients to the soil to improve or increase soil fertility.Excessive use of chemical fertilizers will reduce the efficiency of fertilizer use and environmental quality. Heavy metals are not biodegradable and can persist for a long time in contaminated soil. Cadmium (Cd) is a heavy metal that already exists in the soil as a result of the process of soil formation by minerals. According to the Regulation of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia number492/MENKES/PER/IV/2010 the threshold value of Cadmium (Cd) content in soil is 0.50 mg/kg and based on the National Standardization Agency the threshold value of heavy metal cadmium (Cd) contamination in raw materials food such as rice is 0.40 mg/kg. This research was conducted using a very detailed level survey method. Research location A, covering an area of 10 hectares, took 2 samples of composite results, research site B covering an area of 15 hectares, 3 samples of composite results were taken, research location C covering an area of 10 hectares was the same as research location A and research location D covering an area of 2.5 hectares, 1 sample of composite results was taken. The research data were analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results showed that there was a heavy metal content of cadmium in the soil but it had not exceeded the specified threshold value and the content of heavy metal cadmium in rice was still below the detection limit of the method, meaning that it was still far from the specified threshold value. Keywords: Lowland Rice, Inorganic Fertilizer, Heavy Metal and Cadmium.
