PERBANDINGAN STRUKTUR ANATOMI BATANG TUMBUHAN HIDROFIT DALAM KEADAAN BATANG TERENDAM AIR DAN TIDAK TERENDAM AIR SERTA SUMBANGANNYA PADA PEMBELAJARAN BIOLOGI SMA
This study aims to determine the comparison of the structure and size of the anatomical cell structure of hydrophytic plant stems in the condition of the stems being submerged in water and the stems not being submerged in water. This research was conducted at the Laboratory of FKIP Palembang using a descriptive method. Observations were made on a cross section of the stem and observed using a binocular microscope with a magnification of 40 and 400 times. Observation parameters include anatomical structure arrangement, cell size, cell shape, and the number of epidermal, sclerenchyma and collenchyma cell layers. The results showed that from the six hydrophytic plants there were similarities in the structural arrangement of the stems submerged in water and stems not submerged in water, namely epidermis, collenchyma, aerenchyma, and bundle vessels, but there were differences in cell size. Cyperus strigosus has the longest average length of epidermal cells with a length of 13.75 µm on the stems submerged in water, while the shortest is Eleocharis dulcis with a length of 7.25 µm on stems not submerged in water. Cyperus strigosus has the longest tuft size with a length of 209.5 µm on stems submerged in water, while the shortest average is owned by Cyperus odoratus with a length of 120.5 µm on stems not submerged in water. Cyperus strigosus had the longest aerenchyma size of 209.5 µm in waterlogged stems, while Cyperus iria shortest average was 53.75 µm on non-watered stems. The results of this study showed that the cell size in the stems submerged in water had a larger size than the stems not submerged in water, especially in the size of the aerenchyma. The results of this study are expected to be additional information regarding the structure and function of the class XI network on basic competencies 3.3
