UJI KINERJA KECEPATAN DAN JUMLAH MATA PISAU PADA MESIN PENGIRIS KERIPIK SINGKONG TIPE VERTIKAL
This study aims to determine the effect of speed and number of blades on a vertical type chip slicing machine. The method used in this study was a factorial randomized block design (RAKF) with two factors, namely speed (A) and number of blades (B). Both factors consist of three treatment levels. The speed treatment level consisted of 437 rpm, 552 rpm, and 580 rpm while the number of blade treatment levels consisted of one blade, three blades, and four blades. The parameters of this research are actual capacity, yield, percentage of whole slices, percentage of half whole slices, percentage of crushed slices. The results of this study indicate that the speed and number of blades have a significant effect on the above parameters except for the thickness of the slices. The highest actual capacity value was produced by the combination of A3B1 treatment with a rotation speed of 580 rpm and one blade, namely 45.94 km/hour. For the yield of the highest mean value was produced by the combination of treatment A1B1 with a rotation speed of 437 rpm and one blade, namely 97.45%, the highest percentage of whole slices was found in the combination treatment A2B1 (552 rpm speed and one blade) which was 79.91%. The lowest mean value for the percentage of halfwhole slices and the percentage of crushed slices was found in the combination of treatments A3B1 and A2B1 which was 5.08% and 13.83%, respectively.
