This research is to produce a practical, valid and reliable polarity test tool for polar and non-polar covalent compounds in the sub-material of chemical covalent compounds in class X SMA and this research was conducted in class X IPA SMA Negeri 2 Ogan Ilir. This research uses a 4D development model (Define, Design, Develop and Disseminate). Data collection techniques used are observation, interviews, and questionnaires. The practicum tools made were then validated by three media experts. By using the Aiken formula, the validity score of media experts is 0.91 and is included in the high category. Reliability can be seen from experiments that’s carried out repeatedly and obtain stability from the test results. To find out the practicality, it can be seen from the questionnaire filled out by students and then calculated using the Guttman scale and obtained a score of 93.4% and is included in the very practical category. This shows that the practicum tool developed by the researcher is valid, practical and reliable.
