This study aims to present motivational values that are often found in everyday life. This study used descriptive qualitative method. The research data comes from the novel Negeri 5 Menara by Ahmad Fuadi. In analyzing the data using the theory of needs as a hierarchy pioneered by Abraham H. Maslow. The steps are as follows: (1) identifying data regarding motivational values according to the theory of needs as a hierarchy (2) classifying the data obtained (3) intrepret and analyze the characteristics of the value of motivation according to the theory of needs as a hierarchy, and (4) concluding analysis results. Based on the results of research conducted, there are 59 data on motivation values according to the theory of needs as a hierarchy, which includes 5 physiological needs data, 11 security needs data, 6 social needs data, 35 esteem needs data, and 2 self-actualization data. The results of this study can be used in learning Indonesian at the high school level class XII 2013 curriculum, namely the basic competence 3.9 analyzing the content and language of the novel.
