This research is entitled "Socio-Economic Development of Purun Tikar Craftsmen in Menang Raya Village, Pedamaran District, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency 2010 - 2020 (Material Contribution to the South Sumatra Regional Wisdom Course for Historical Education Sriwijaya University). The problems raised are how the initial development of the purun mat craft in the village of Menang Raya, how the socio- economic development of the purun mat craftsmen in the village of Menang Raya, Pedamaran District, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency in 2010 – 2020, how is the relationship between craftsmen and the community, how is the existence of the purun mat craft in Indonesia. The village of Menang Raya today and in the future. This research was conducted with the aim of informing and explaining the development of the social and economic life of the purun mat craftsmen in the village of Menang. The method used in this research is a historical research method with the process of collecting data through library research and in-depth interviews with several craftsmen, community leaders, and various related parties. While the approach used is the approach of economics, sociology, geography. Based on the results of the study, it was obtained information that many purun mat craftsmen were in the village of Menang Raya because it was close to the manufacturing material, namely the purun plant. The social life that occurs in the village of Menang Raya is intertwined between craftsmen, craftsmen with middlemen and craftsmen with the government. Meanwhile, in the economic field, the increase in the price of purun mats has greatly impacted the wages and income of craftsmen. In the period 2010 to 2020 there was a significant development in the sales and production of purun mat handicrafts.
