SERANGAN PENGGEREK CABANG KOPI (XYLOSANDRUS COMPACTUS) PADA PERTANAMAN KOPI DENGAN NAUNGAN DAN TANPA NAUNGAN DI KECAMATAN DEMPO UTARA KOTA PAGARALAM
Coffee plants is a plantation crop with significant economic importance for Pagaralam population. Growers of Robusta coffee require a protective tree, and that protective tree can hinder the branch borer's attack. The aims of this study is to compare coffee plantations with and without shade to see how frequently coffee plant branch borer pests (Coleoptera: Scolytidae) attack. The investigation was conducted in coffee gardens with and without shade, as well as coffee gardens with lamtoro shade, Leucaena leucocepha, and agroforetsri (mixed shade). In September 2022, the observation was conducted. A Factorial Group Randomized Design (FGRD) was employed in the investigation. Both coffee farms with and without shade trees are subject to assaults by the coffee branch borer. Coffee branch borers attack rates can be influenced by farmers who diligently maintain their coffee farms.Symptoms of a coffee branch borer attack can be found on young twigs that are still green. The results showed that, branch borer attacks are more susceptible to exposure to old plants than young plants. Keywords : coffee, shader, branch borer, Pagaralam
