EVALUASI KUALITAS VISUAL LANSKAP KOLAM RETENSI OGAN PERMATA INDAH (OPI) JAKABARING, KOTA PALEMBANG

Nowadays, the availability of Green Open Space (RTH) in big cities is declining. With various community assets, it can cause problems such as damage to nature. One of the efforts to increase the percentage of RTH in Palembang City is by utilizing the Ogan Permata Indah (OPI) Retention Pond area in Jakabaring. However, in the current conditions, the landscape arrangement is still not suitable so that the visual potential cannot be utilized optimally. This study aims to determine the visual quality of a landscape with the Scenic Beauty Estimation (SBE) and Semantic Differential (SD) methods. The SBE method is an interactive concept and assessment includes the perceived conditions of a landscape. Meanwhile, the SD method measures a person's assessment of words and devices on a bipolar scale by using different adjectives on objects. The respondents consisted of 30 people who were local people, not local people but had visited the OPI Retention Pond, and were unaware of and had never visited the OPI Retention Pond. From the Scenic Beauty Estimation (SBE) assessment carried out, it shows that the visual quality of this Retention Pond landscape is categorized as medium beauty. Meanwhile, from the Semantic Differential assessment with beautiful broad criteria, there are 22 landscapes that have quite diverse plant vegetation and a more pleasant impression, besides that this location also has varied criteria. Improving the visual quality of the landscape can help overcome the economic problems of the local community and increase the availability of Green Open Space (RTH) in Palembang City.
