IDENTIFIKASI POLIMORFISME INSERSI/DELESI GEN ANGIOTENSIN CONVERTING ENZYM INTRON 16 PADA PASIEN PREEKLAMPSIA DI RUMAH SAKIT DR. MOHAMMAD HOESIN PALEMBANG
Background: Preeclampsia (PE) is a pregnancy-related disorder characterized by hypertension and proteinuria after 20 weeks of gestation. Preeclampsia has a significant correlation with insertion/deletion ACE gene intron 16 polymorphism. This polymorphism can increase ACE gene activity which lead to failure of artery spiralis remodelling that it can finally cause preeclampsia. However, this research has not been done before in preeclamptic patients in RSMH, Palembang. Because of that, the aim of this research to identify insertion/deletion ACE gene intron 16 polymorphism at DR. Mohammad Hoesin General Hospital, Palembang. Methods: This was an observational descriptive study, done in 32 preeclampsia patients. Identification of polymorphisms insertion/deletion (I/D) ACE gene intron 16 performed by PCR amplification which was determined by using specific primers. The primers used site directed mutagenesis techniques that introduce point mutations into a particular site. Result: 0% homozygote mutant genotype (DD), 40,6% heterozygote mutant genotype (ID), and 59,4% wild type genotype (II). The amount of I and D allele was 79,7% and 20,3% in preeclampsia patients at DR. Mohammad Hoesin general hospital, Palembang. Conclusion: Wild type genotype was more common in preeclampsia patients at DR. Mohammad Hoesin general hospital, Palembang (59,4%).
