HUBUNGAN FAKTOR MAKANAN DENGAN KEJADIAN AKNE VULGARIS DI SMA NEGERI 3 PALEMBANG
Introduction. Acne Vulgaris is a common teenage acne, chronic, and self limiting skin disease. Acne Vulgaris can cause psychological morbidity such as loss of confident in adolescent. Some studies suggest an association between food factor like dairy product, high glycemic, high lipid foods and acne vulgaris, but the relevant dietary factor are still unclear. The purpose in this study is to determine association between dietary factor with prevalence of acne vulgaris in SMA Negeri 3 Palembang. Method. This study used analytic cross-sectional. Samples were 270 respondents ffom 795 students in SMA Negeri 3 Palembang who meet a requirement inclusion and exclusion criterions. This study used primer data from questionnaires in 2011. Results. Prevalence of acne vulgaris in this study was 75.6% which dominated 15 years old (27.4%) and (39.3%) male. The most type of acne vulgaris was papulopustule (61.3%). The highest predilection was face (92.2%) particularly in both of cheeks (30.7%). The result of Chi-square test and Fisher’s Exact Test found that there was no association between dietary factor such as dairy product, high glycemic, high lipid foods with prevalence of acne vulgaris in SMA Negeri 3 Palembang. Discussion. In this study there was no association between dietary factor with prevalence of acne vulgaris in SMA Negeri 3 Palembang. It might be caused by causal ofacne vulgaris is multifactorial.
