This study aims to describe (1) the results of the needs analysis of class X SMA Srijaya Negara in poetry writing, (2) the design of android-based learning media using Appy Pie in poetry writing, (3) the results of expert validation of the developed learning media. This study uses a modified Alessi and Trollip (2001) research and development model. This learning media was developed based on the results of the needs analysis of teachers and students of class X SMA Srijaya Negara. This learning media framework consists of a menu of instructions, competencies, indicators, materials, evaluations, idea centers, references, profiles, and forums. This learning media has gone through an alpha test conducted by media, material, and linguistic experts. Based on the results of the assessment from the experts, it was stated that the android-based poetry writing learning media using Appy Pie was feasible for students to use.
