Breech presentation is a condition where the fetus buttocks or legs are the first parls lo appear at Ihe uterine cervix. Nowadays, breech presentation is still a major obstetric problem in Indonesia, this is due to breech presentation may increase perinatal morbidity and mortality number about 9-25% which is higher than normal presentation which is only 2,6%. There are several factors that affect the fetus in breech presentation such as mother age, parity and estimated of baby’s weight, which low birth weight will cause the fetus to rotate that will cause malpresentation. Therefore low birth weight may increase the risk of breech presentation. The aim of this study is to determine the common characteristic of breech presentation and the relationship of low birth weight with breech presentation at Mohammad Husein Hospital Palembang. Methods of the study is descriptive analitical research with cross sectional appoarchL The result of this study show that the prevalence of breech presentation at Mohammad Husein Hospital is 7%. Low birth weight has a correlation with the incidence of breech presentation ( Chi-Square Test, p=0,00 OR=0,3). The conclusion of the study is low birth weight has a correlation with the incidence of birth presentation with probability 23%.
