KARAKTERISTIK UMUM DAN KLINIS SERTA FAKTOR RESIKO PENDERITA ULKUS KORNEA DI POLIKLINIK MATA RUMAH SAKIT MOHAMMAD HOESIN PALEMBANG PERIODE JANUARI 2010- JUNI2011
Comeal ulcer is a partial loss of the corneal surface due to the death of tissue, which is an emergency condition that could potentially lead to blindness and become a public health problem in developing countries. The purpose of the research is to understand the general and clinical characteristics as well as the factors that contribute to the risk of patient with comeal ulcers in RSMH Palembang. The research used is a descriptive research by implementing secondary data held in October-December 2011 at the Eye Clinic RSMH Palembang. The participants that took part were all patients who seek treatment of comeal ulcers in the Eye Clinic RSMH Palembang in period January 2010-June 2011. Furthermore, these samples have met both inclusion and exclusion criterias. From the 53 patients of comeal ulcer it was found that the disease is more likely to attacks male (77.4%) compared to female between the age from 40-49 years. Hence, Patients with more reside outside the city of Palembang (32.1%). Central comeal ulcer without hipopion is a type of comeal ulcers that is more common (49.1%). This incidence frequently occurs in the right eye (50.9) and mostly is caused by bacteria (66%). The most common risk factor is trauma to the eye (41.5%) with rice grains as the most common cause (50%).
