Edamame plant (Glycine max (L.) Merril) is a legume plant originating from Japan which is usually made for sake drinks. Edamame has a higher selling price than ordinary soybeans. Edamame cultivation on Ultisol is certainly not easy because Ultisol has poor chemical properties characterized by high soil acidity and low to moderate organic matter content. In edamame cultivation, the plant part taken at harvest is the edamame seed. Morphologically, the main difference between Edamame and ordinary soybeans is its size, where edamame has different nutritional content. The use of organic fertilizers has the advantage of adding macro and micro nutrients to the soil. Organic fertilizers have several advantages such as high nutrient content, hygroscopic power or the ability to absorb and release and are easily soluble in water to be easily absorbed by plants. With these properties, organic fertilizers have several features, including practical and economical in transporting nutrient compositions. Until now, research on edamame plants is still limited. To improve the physical, chemical and biological properties of the soil, it is necessary to add organic fertilizers including chicken manure, cow manure, and compost. This study uses a minimum tillage system in which the tillage system will be processed to a minimum. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of organic fertilizer on several physical properties of the soil under minimum tillage conditions. The research was carried out from December to February 2022 at the Experimental Garden of Sriwijaya University, Indralaya, Ogan Ilir. The design used in this study was a randomized block design with 4 levels of treatment. Each treatment was repeated 4 times, so there were 16 experimental units. The level of treatment in this study was P0 (Without Organic Fertilizer); P1 (Chicken Cage Fertilizer dose of 30 tons ha-1); P2 (Cow Manure dose of 30 tons ha-1); P3 (Compost fertilizer dose of 30 tons ha-1). The research data were analyzed using ANOVA at a 5% significance level and further tested with the BNT0.05 test. The results showed that each application of organic fertilizer had no significant effect on several soil physical properties in minimum tillage on edamame (Glcyine max (L.) Merrill) plants.
