PENGARUH PEMBERIAN JAMU HERBAL FERMENTASI DALAM AIR MINUM TERHADAP PERSENTASE BOBOT DAGING DAN TULANG PADA IRISAN KARKAS AYAM BROILER
The increase of the public’s need on livestock products has made the use of medicines for the prevention and treatment of livestock’s diseases to become much more important so the meat and eggs can be produced efficiently. Metabolism improvement through the administration of herbal medicine (jamu) on livestock will indirectly increase the livestock’s weights due to the bioactive contents. This research was conducted for 35 days from November until December at the Experiment Pen of the Study Program of Animal Husbandry, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University. This research used 60 1-day old broiler chicken obtained from PT JAPFA. This research used Completely Randomized Design with 4 treatments and 5 repetitions. The treatments comprised of P0 (Control), P1 (7,5 ml/liter of fermented herbal medicine (jamu) + drinking water), P2 (10 ml/liter of fermented herbal medicine (jamu) + drinking water), P3 (12,5 ml/liter of fermented herbal medicine (jamu)+ drinking water). The observed variables include breast meat, breast bone, thigh meat, thigh bone, wing meat, and wing bone. Based on the result of the research, it can be concluded that the administration of fermented herbal medicine (jamu) up to 12 ml during the 35 days of treatment on broiler chicken has not yet increased the percentage of slice weight of commercial carcass, but was found indications on the increase of meat bone ratio in the breast and thigh of broiler chicken.
