This study intention to (1) validate whether there is a significant difference between the poetry writing skills of the group of students who participate in learning using the synectic model and the group of students who do not participate in learning using the synectic model and (2) validate whether the use of the synectic model is effective in learning to write. poetry of class VIII students of Mts Muqimus Sunnah Palembang. This study uses an experimental method to test the significance/importance of a trialled treatment. The data collection technique in this study was the pretest and posttest methods. The questions in this study were in the form of a poetry writing test. Testing the results of this study using SPSS 25. The data analysis technique used in this study was the t-test with a significance level of 5%. The results of this study indicate that the posttest-free sample t-test analysis of the control group and the experimental group obtained a t-value of -4.125 with a df of 62 and a P of 0.000 (P
