RANCANG BANGUN MESIN PENGHANCUR DAN PENGAYAK TANAH TIPE HORIZONTAL
This study aims to design a horizontal type crusher and sieving machine for soil. This research was carried out on March 2021 to April 2022 at the workshop of Agricultural Technology Department, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University, Indralaya. The method used in this research was a technical design method with descriptive data presentation in the form of tables and graphs. The resulting data were primary data as a result of direct measurement from the soil crusher and sieving machine. The parameters were the percentage of fineness fraction, effective engine capacity, fuel requirements and the cost of fuel requirements. The test was carried out 5 times with a 5 kg soil that containing 11 % water content. The results showed that the average percentage of the fineness fraction of the horizontal type crusher and sieving machine reached 95.2%. The highest effective capacity of the horizontal type crusher and sieving machine was 310.3 kg/hour, while the average effective capacity of the machine was 286.7 kg/hour. The effective capacity of the horizontal type crusher and sieving machine varied due to the difference in the size of soil particle. The average fuel requirement for a horizontal type crusher and sieving machine was 1.381 liters/hour. The average fuel cost of the horizontal type crusher and sieving machine was Rp 11098.99 /jam.
