This study aims to determine the role of Balai Besar POM (BBPOM) in reducing the circulation of traditional medicines containing hazardous chemicals and counterfeiting POM numbers. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Sampling used purposive sampling technique with 6 informants. Data collection techniques using documentation techniques, interviews and observations. From the results of this study, it was found that in the role of Balai Besar POM in reducing the circulation of Traditional Medicines containing hazardous chemicals and counterfeiting POM numbers, Balai POM has carried out its role in accordance with the function of BPOM. This can be proven by the role of Balai Besar POM in reducing the circulation of Traditional Medicines containing hazardous chemicals and counterfeiting POM numbers, namely BBPOM as Standardization, namely in compiling standards, regulations, policies related to Drug and Food supervision, the role of BBPOM as an Assessment (Pre-Market). Evaluation) before a product gets a distribution permit, the product must be evaluated if it meets the requirements then the product can be produced in large quantities and circulated to the public. The role of BBPOM as Supervision after being circulated (Post Market-Control) to see the consistency of product quality, safety and product information is carried out by sampling Drug and Food products circulating both online and buying directly. The role of BBPOM as Laboratory Testing. Products that are sampled based on risk are then tested through a laboratory to find out whether the drugs and foods have met the requirements for safety, efficacy or benefits and quality. The role of BBPOM as law enforcer in the field of drug and food supervision. The POM Center carries out law enforcement on the basis of evidence from the results of tests, examinations and initial investigations, law enforcement processes to projusticia.
