Background: Feeding parenting style ha s an important impaet on children s food intake, besides children’s body weight, family income, and parents’s education will effected the choice of food intake and nutritional status. This study conducted to determine the type of feeding parenting style with each type of the nutritional status and also to determined the best type of feeding parenting style which will be use by parents in the future. Methods: An observational deseriptive prospective study was carried out all of parents who carried their children (6 — 36 months) to Pediatric Clinic of Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Hospital from October-December 2012. Anthropometric measurements (weight and body lenght or height ) were performed in all patients. Malnutrition and short stature were determined according to Kemenkes RI 2010, such as weight for length, weight for age and length for age. Results: There were 104 samples who fulfilled the inclusion eriteria. 1,9 % (2 samples) of the total samples were neglectful style. 16,3% (17 samples) of the total samples were indulgent style. 36,5% (38 samples) of the total samples were controlling style. 45,2% (47 samples) of the total samples were responsive style. 1% (1 sample) of the total samples were severe undemutrition. 12,5% (13 samples) of the total samples were malnutrition. 51,9% (54 samples) of the total samples were normal. 34,6% (36 samples) of the total samples were obese. Conclusion: The most common feeding parenting style was responsive style as much as 45,2% (47 samples) from the total samples. The feeding parenting style which can caused obesity was controling style, meanwhile, the feeding parenting style which can caused a normal nutritional status was responsive style.
