TEMUAN INTRAOPERATIF OTITIS MEDIA SUPURATIF KRONIK (OMSK) DENGAN KOLESTEATOMA DI DEPARTEMEN KTHT-KL RSUP DR. MOHAMMAD HOESIN PALEMBANG PERIODE 1 JULI 2011-30 JUNI 2013
Introduction: Chronic Supurative Otitis Media (CSOM) can cause lifethreatening complications as a result of damage made by granulation tissue and cholesteatoma. One of CSOM with cholesteatoma’s management is through operative procedure. This research is aimed to know the intraoperative findings with cholesteatoma in Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang. Method: This study is a descriptive observational research. Population of this research was patient with a diagnosis of CSOM. Sample of this research was patient with a diagnosis CSOM with cholesteatoma who were operated at the Department of otorhinolaryngology Dr. Mohammad Hoesin in periode 1 July 2011-30 June 2013. Results: Total of 39 samples were collected through medical records and otology status. Mostly patients of CSOM with cholesteatoma is female (59%) with the highest age was ranged 18-40 years old (51.3%). Most of the patient live outside Palembang (56.4%). Total perforation is mostly occurred (51.3%) with the tympanic cavity mucosa granulation (46.2%). Patients with abnormal bone loss regulary found (48.7%) and 38,5% of which had ossicular fixation. Extensive gradation of cholesteatoma in stage 3 and 4 are more common (23.1%). Intratemporal complications often suffered by patients (53.8%). Conclusion: Mostly CSOM with cholesteatoma occurred in female with the range of age is 18-40 years old. In tympanic cavity, total perforation and mucosa granulation is frequently occurred. Patients had abnormal bone loss and ossicular fixation. Extensive gradation of cholesteatoma in stage 3 and 4 are more common. Intratemporal complications more often suffered by patients.
