The increasing area of oil palm plantations in Betung District has the potential to develop beef cattle in an integrated mann er in this area. The integration system between cattle and oil palm by utilizing forage that grows underneath is quite prospective to increase livestock production. This research was carried out during December 2021 in an oil palm plantation area in Betung District, Banyuasin Regency, South Sumatra Province and the Nutrition and Animal Feed Laboratory of the Animal Husbandry Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University. Measurement of forage production was carried out using a systematic meth od, namely random sampling using a 1m² quadrant. The sampling locations were divided into five zones, namely Zone A (Rimba Asam Village), Zone B (Betung Village), Zone C (Suka Mulya Village), Zone D (Bukit Village), and Zone E (Sri Kembang Village). The pa rameters observed in this study were the types of forage vegetation, forage biomass production, cumulative forage production and grazing capacity. The results of the study found as many as 19 types of forage with the dominant vegetation types, namely Juku t Pahit, Jukut Kakasuran and Goletrak. Fresh forage production from samples in Betung District was average of 0 , 05 kg/m². The area of 9 , 4 kg/m² with an oil palm plantations in Betung Ha and the capacity of 0 , 96 ST produces 160 , District is 167 32 ST ha⁻¹.year⁻¹. This situation has not been able to meet the needs of l ivestock with a population of 7 . 404 individuals. Utilization of oil palm plantations as livestock grazing can still be i ncreased by planting forages that are resistant to the canopy and by means of fertilization.
