This research is entitled "Development of the Safinatussalamah Islamic Boarding School in Marpunge Village, Putri Betung District, Gayo Lues Regency, Aceh Province, 2007-2020. The problems contained in the writing of this research are what is the background of the establishment of the Safinatussalamah Islamic boarding school, how is the development of the Safinatussalamah Islamic boarding school, what are the activities of the Safinatussalamah Islamic Boarding School in 2007-2020, what is the role of the Safinatussalamah Islamic Boarding School. Furthermore, the purpose of this study is to explain the background of the founding of the Safinatussalamah Islamic boarding school, to explain the development of the Safinatussalamah Islamic boarding school, to explain what activities within the Safinatussalamah Islamic boarding school 2007-2020 and to explain the role of the Safinatussalamah Islamic boarding school. The method used in this research is the historical method by carrying out four stages of implementation, namely: heuristics, source criticism, interpretation and historiography. From the research results, it was found that the Safinatussalamah Islamic boarding school in Marpunge Village was founded in 2007 by Ustadz Sahbudin as the leader of the Islamic boarding school, the development of the pesantren can be seen from the aspect of teaching staff, students, infrastructure and curriculum as well as activities carried out by students and the community such as muroja 'ah, gotong royong, khuruj, suluk, silaturahmi, congregational prayers, sermons, reading the Qur'an, tawahuj, reading the letter Yasin, hadrah-qasidah, the birthday of the prophet and isra mi'raj. Islamic boarding schools also provide a role in the fields of da'wah, education and society. Keywords: Islamic boarding school Safinatussalamah, Marpunge.
