PENILAIAN PENONJOLAN BOLA MATA (PROPTOSIS) PADA PENDERITA ORBITAL PSEUDOTUMOR DI POLIKLINIK MATA RSUP DR MOHAMMAD HOESIN PALEMBANG
Backgrounds: Orbital pseudotumor is a chronic injlammatory reaction of the eye and the aetiology is unknown. Symptoms include proptosis and lid congestion with edema. Orbital Pseudotumor has a variety of clinical symptoms, depending on the orbital structure of those involved, the degree of inflammation and fibrosis. Proptosis is the most frequent presentation, followed by eyelid swelling and limitation in motility. Objections: The research aims to show proptosis evaluation in patients with orbital pseudotumor done in RSUP dr. Mohammad Hoesin Eye Clinic Palembang, period May 2008 to April 2013. Methods: Descriptive study using secondary data from medical records of patients with orbital pseudotumor done in RSUP dr. Mohammad Hoesin Eye Clinic Palembang. Results: In period of 5 years, from May 2008 until April 2013, there were 78 patients with pseudotumor at the Tumour Subdivision and Reconstruction dr. Moh. Hoesin Eye Clinic Palembang. From 78 cases only 34 cases have medical records and met the inclusion criteria. Distribution characteristics of patients with orbital pseudotumor based on the most main complaint is proptosis were 29 cases (85.29%). Summary: This study shows that in the period of 5 years, from May 2008 until April 2013, there were 78 patients with pseudotumor, results obtained from Eye Clinic RSMH Palembang. Survey in this 5-year period (78 cases per 5 years) is greater than the survey in several hospitals. The most main complaint in this case is proptosis were 29 cases (85.29%).
