This tumour is usually found in the midline of the body, and occurs at any age. There are only few studies that have been conducted so far to describe profile (age, sex, location) and histopathological feature (germinal layer), especially in Indonesia. The aim of this study is to identify profile, histopathological feature, and prevalence of mature teratoma diagnosed at Anatomical Pathology Department of Mohammad Hoesin General Hospital, Palembang. Methods: This is an observational descriptive study on 254 cases of mature teratoma which is diagnosed during the period from January 2008 to December 2010 at Anatomical Pathology Department.
