Method: This is an observational analytical research in a cross-sectional approach which used secondary data ffom medical record. Bivariate and multivariate regression logistic were used for data analysis with a=0,05 and 95% of confidence interval. Results: The prevalence of early postpartum hemorrhage in RSUP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang in 2012 was 9,9% (101 cases). The most of early postpartum hemorrhage patients was midwives’ referral patients (93,1%) and retained placenta was the most prevalence cause for this cases (43,6%). The risk factors that are significance for early postpartum hemorrhage were parity >3 (p=0,002; OR=2,45) and baby’s weight >4000 grams (p=0,016; OR=5,53). While mother’s age and interval between childbirth were not significance statistically (p>0,05). Conclusion: Risk factors of early postpartum hemorrhage are baby’s weight >4000 grams and parity >3. Baby’s weight >4000 grams is the most dominant risk factor has been contributed to early postpartum hemorrhage.
