Backgound : Maternal mortality in Indonesia is still very efforts, although the Indonesian government has made various efforts to lower it. Prolonged labor is contributes to maternal mortality rate and infant mortality rate. Objective : This study aims to identify the most influential factors on the incidence of prolonged labor RS.RK.Charitas years old in 2010. Method : This study uses cross-sectional method by using the long confinement of 87 events with a minimum sampling calculations 310 vaginal delivery. Risk factors in this study is his strength, maternal age, parity history, comorbidities, tumor, pelvis narrow, baby weight, fetal position, sex, childbirth labor companion and helper. The test statistic used is the Odds Ratio with Confidence Interval = 95% and the Chi square test for each risk factor to evaluate the level of significance or strength of the relationship. Result: The results of this study that the risk factors associated with the incidence of prolong labor history of parity is a factor affecting the incidence of long confinement in RS.RICCharitas Palembang in 2010.
