ANALISIS KINERJA MESIN PENGIRIS TIPE VERTIKAL DENGAN JENIS BAHAN DAN KECEPATAN PUTARAN TERHADAP HASIL IRISAN KERIPIK
This study aims to determine and study the performance of the vertical type slicing machine based on the type of material and rotation speed and to test the machine's ability and work quality in performing the slicing process on the results of whole slices. The method used in this study was a factorial randomized block design (RAKF) with two treatment factors, namely rotation speed (A) and type of material (B). Each factor consists of three levels of treatment. The treatment level for rotation speed consisted of 437 rpm, 552 rpm, and 580 rpm rotation speed while the treatment level consisted of sweet potato, cassava, and banana kepok. Parameters observed in this study were actual capacity (kg/hour), yield (%), percentage of whole slices (%), percentage of half whole slices (%), percentage of crushed slices (%), and slice thickness (mm). The results of this study indicate that the rotational speed and type of material have a significant effect on the actual capacity, yield, percentage of whole slices, percentage of half whole slices, and percentage of crushed slices. The highest actual capacity value was found in the treatment combination A3B1 with a rotation speed of 580 rpm and the type of sweet potato material, namely 37.53 kg/hour. The highest yield was found in the treatment combination A1B1 with a rotation speed of 437 rpm and the type of sweet potato material, which was 95.71%. For the treatment, the highest percentage of whole slices was found in the treatment combination A1B1 with a rotation speed of 437 rpm and the type of sweet potato material, which is equal to 73,61% while the lowest percentage of half whole and crushed slices were 8.11% and 15.36%, respectively.
