Background:Scabies is a contagious skin disease caused by sarcoptes scabei varian hominis. One of the factors of the prevalence of scabies is poor sanitation and personal hygiene, who live at boarding school. The purpose of this study was to determine the correlation of personal hygiene and environtmental sanitation with scabies at boarding school Qodratullah Langkan district of Banyuasin. Methods:The design of this study was an observational analytic with cross-sectional. The population of sample were study in students at boarding school Qodratullah Langkan district of Banyuasin. The sample of this study was 196 students at boarding school Qadratullah Lankan at Banyuasin that fulfilled the inclusion criteria. Result: There were 80 students (40,6%) got scabies. The result of this study showed that the variables of environmental sanitation including the population density (p = 0.374) did not have any influence. The variable of personal hygiene including cleaning towels ( p = 0.000 ),body hygiene (p= 0,002), the cleanliness of clothing ( p = 0.001), the cleanliness of the bed ( p = 0.000 ), sleeping habits ( p = 0.000 ), cleanliness of the hands (p = 0,047) significantly affect the incidence of scabies. The result of multiple logistic regression tests showed that the variable which dominantly influenced the prevalence of scabies was the hygiene towel with coefficient Exp. B = 0.091 Conclusion:Personal hygiene and environmental sanitation is proved influential personal hygiene, r2 28% of the overall contribution. categories of poor personal hygiene p value 3.5%.
