Incomplete Abortion is one of the type of abortion which parts from the conception has been extracted out spontaneously from the cavum uteri but there also some parts that remain inside, this type of abortion happens when the pregnancy age less than 20 weeks and the weight of the fetus less than 500 grams. Until now incomplete abortion still the major factor in increasing the mortality rate of mother. Risk factors of incomplete abortion can be divided into maternal factors, fetal factors, paternal factor. Maternal factors are maternal age, parity, pregnancy age, history of abortion and history of underlined diseases or classified as the mother's characteristic. Factors from the fetal are abnormal zygote's development, aneuploidy and euploidy abortion. The paternal factor are translocation of the father 's sperm. In particular, the risk factors derived from the mother mostly affect the incomplete abortion and needed more intervention for these factors. This study was conducted to find out the correlation between the mother 's characteristics and the incidence of incomplete abortion in the General Hospital Palembang Mohammad Hosein period January - December 2010. This study was a descriptive analytic survey of mothers who have spontaneous abortion, by using secondary data, in order to see whether maternal age, parity, pregnancy age, history of abortion, and history of diseases are the risk factor of incomplete abortion. The population of this study was all spontaneous abortion incidences in RSMHperiod of January-December 2010 that as many as 201 samples. Dependent and independent variables analyzed by statistical tests. Based on the results, the frequency of incomplete abortion in RSMH at that period is 72,1 % from all the abortion incidences. Mother's characteristics that studied in this research such as maternal age, parity, pregnancy age, history of abortion, and history of diseases are statistically proved have no significant correlation with incomplete abortion.
