This study aims to determine whether there is a relationship between social interaction and the quality of life of the elderly in the Technical Implementation Unit of the Harapan Kita Elderly Social Institution Service, Ogan Ilir Regency. The approach used in this research is quantitative with the type of correlational research. The population of this study were all the elderly who were in the Technical Implementation Unit of the Harapan Kita Social Institution for the Elderly, Ogan Ilir Regency, with a sample of 67 elderly using purposive sampling technique. Data collection techniques using a questionnaire. The questionnaire used is social interaction with a Likert scale and the quality of life questionnaire for the elderly, namely the WHOQOL BREF, where this questionnaire can be used internationally and has been patented by WHO and various other countries including Indonesia. The validity test uses the product moment and the reliability test uses the Cronbach alpha formula.correlation formula product moment The results showed that there was a relationship between social interaction and quality of life. With the results of thecalculated> rtable , that is 0.625 0.240 with a significance test level of 5%. The correlation value of this size is classified as high correlation with criteria > 0.5 – 0.75 = high correlation. A perfect positive relationship indicates that there is a unidirectional relationship between the X variable and the Y variable. Where if the X variable increases, the Y variable also increases.
