This study aims to identify land suitability for paddy and soybeans on dry land and swampland. This research was carried out in September 2020 in dry land and swampland at the Field Laboratory of the Department of Soil, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University, Inderalaya. This study uses a very detailed level survey method with the number of sample points taken is 9 points using a grid system. The variables observed at every point in the field (ground water depth), while the variables observed in the laboratory were soil physical properties (texture), dan soil chemical properties (pH, nitrogen, potassium and phosphorus). Based on the results, the actual suitability classes for paddy in lowland swamp land that is class S3-nr-na3 {marginal suitabel with nutrient retention limiting factor (pH) and the availability of nutrients (K2O)}, whereas the actual suitability for soybean plants in dry land are class S3-rc1-nr-na3 {according to the limiting factor of the root media (texture), nutrient retention (pH). Meanwhile, the potential suitability for paddy in the swampland after adding the input is S1 (highly suitable), while the potential suitability for soybean plants in dry land is S2-tc-wa1 {moderately suitable with the limiting factor that cannot be changed or overcome in the form of temperature. and availability of water (air humidity)}.
