UJI KINERJA MESIN PENGIRIS TIPE VERTIKAL DENGAN JUMLAH MATA PISAU DAN JENIS BAHAN TERHADAP HASIL IRISAN KRIPIK
This study aims to determine and study the performance of vertical type slicing machine with the number of blades and type of material on the results of sliced chips and to test the machine's ability and the quality of work in the slicing process on the whole slices The method used in this study was a factorial randomized block design (RAKF) with two treatment factors, namely the number of blades (A) and the type of material (B). Each factor consisted of three levels The treatment level for the number of blades consisted of blades 2, 3, and 4 while the treatment level for the type of material consisted of potato, purple sweet potato, and banana jackfruit. Parameters observed in this study were actual capacity (kg /hour), yield (%), percentage of whole slices (%), percentage of half whole slices (%), percentage of slices crushed (%), and slice thickness (mm). The results of this study indicate that the number of blades and the type of material have a significant effect on the actual capacity, the percentage of whole slices, the percentage of half-whole slices, and the percentage of crushed slices. The highest actual capacity value was found in the combination of treatment A1B1 with the number of blades 2 and the type of potato material, namely 63.29 kg/hour. The highest yield was found in the combination treatment A1B2 with the number of blades 2 and the type of purple sweet potato material, namely 95.44%. For the treatment, the highest percentage of whole slices was found in the combination of treatment A1B3 with the number of blades 2 and the type of banana and jackfruit material.
