KEHILANGAN MINYAK DALAM PENGOLAHAN MINYAK KELAPA SAWIT: STUDI KASUS DI PT. XYZ
The problems that are often experienced by palm oil mills (PKS) is high oil losses. Oil losses are the percentage of palm oil lost during the processing of FFB into CPO. High and uncontrolled oil losses will cause a decrease in yield and cause profit losses for the company. This research aims the loss of oil in the CPO production process at PT. XYZ by control chart and fishbone analysis. Control charts are used to monitor of consistency and aim to get the process under control. The samples observed were Fibre Press, empty bunches before pressing, empty bunches after pressing, and final effluent. The determination of oil loss was analyzed by Soxhlet extraction. This research uses Statistical Processing Control Analysis, namely the EWMA (Exponentially Weighted Moving Average) and Fishbone Control Map. The results showed the loss of oil in empty bunches before pressing, Fibre Press, empty bunches after pressing, and final effluent at PT. XYZ is not in control and some pass the standards in the factory. Oil loss in empty bunches before pressing during observation always exceeds the upper limit of process control. Oil loss at PT. XYZ can be found due to raw material factors, namely the quality of fresh fruit bunches that are processed because of less stringent sorting, the number of processed fruits exceeds capacity, the selection of boiling technology, the determination of temperature, duration and boiling pressure, including the selection of the type of vertical sterilizer, humans who have not been disciplined to follow with process procedures or have not been trained, as well as other factors that cause fruit quality is not optimal.
