Background: Delciyed speech is ci delay in the process of talking compcn ed vi ith theprocess of talking in his/her age. Delayed speech is the main problem largely ccmsed by heciring loss. Objective: To know the prevcilence of delciyed speech accompcinied heciring loss in children at Department of Ecirs Nose Throat Head Neck Surgeiy (ENT-HNS) Dr. Mohcimmad Hoesin Palembang General Hospital in the period Janua/y, 2010 until September, 2011. Method: This study is an obsen’ational descriptive study used a secondaiy data retrieved from were the medical record at Dr. Mohcimmad Hoesin General Hospital Polyclinic in the period January 2010 until September 2011. Descriptions include the distribution of cige, gender, hearing loss, and causes of heciring loss. Chi Scjuare test cincilysis performed to determine relationship berween hearing loss and delayed speech. Result: The scimple was 391 patients. There was 344 delayed speech pcitients accompanied hearing loss. The preva/ence in this period was 1,13%. Gender distribution: male 230 patients (66,8%), female 114 patients (33,2%). Age Distribution: 0-2 year has 116 patients (33,7%), 2-4 year has 136 patients (39,5%), 4-6 year has 52 patients (15,1%), 6-8 year has 16 patients (4,6%), 8-10 year has 12 pcitients (3,5%) and more than 10 year has 12 patient (3,5%). Hearing loss shape distributions: bilateral hearing loss has 80,2%. Hearing loss distribution :heaviest hearing loss has 31,69%, mild deafness has 26,89%, normal hearing has 9,44%, severe deafness has 6,25% ,moderate-severe deafness has 5,67%, and moderate deafness has 5,52%. Caused of hearing loss distributions: TORCH and other infections has 3%, drugs 3,3%, sectio cesaria bom 11,6%, preterm has 10,7%, hyperbilirubinemia has 7,2%, asphyxia 6,1%, infections history 24,1%, hecid injury 11,6%, ear bleeding 2%. chi square test result: there are no relationship benveen hearing loss anf delayed speech (p
