The aim of this research was to determine the rationality of oral antidiabetic drugs use in patient with diabetes mellitus type 2 at Muhammadiyah Hospital. Results: Most patients received glimepiride 2 mg in once a day in combination. The drugs which were the most often combined with oral antidiabetic drugs were NSAIDs. Precise dose and frequency of administration were in 100% dan 76% samples. Adverse effects existed in 39,86% samples. There is contraindication, hepatitic, on two sample. The follow up, replacement and add drugs which have the rational dose and frequency of administration, was 48% samples. Generic (generic and brand) oral antidiabetic drugs were 64% samples. The efficacy exist on 62% samples. Conclusion: The number of sample which had the rational use of Antidiabetic oral (ADO) is only 38%.
