RASIONALITAS PENGGUNAAN ANTIDIABETIKA ORAL PADA PENDERITA DIABETES MELITUS TIPE 2 DI KLINIK MITRA PALEMBANG PERIODE MEI 2010 - OKTOBER 2011
Background: Many oral antidiabetics was used for treating OM. Evidently, it could provide its own problems in practice so it was necessary to know the rational use of drugs. In studies in Salatiga, unsafe drugs is 11.11%, not drug of choice is 19.44%, contraindicated drugs is 47.22% and drug combinations that are not exactly is 22.22%. This study's aim was to determine the rationality of oral antidiabetic use on patients with type 2 DM in Mitra Clinic. Methods: Drug utilization study has been held at the Mitra Clinic Palembang from May 2010 to October 201 I. The samples were taken from medical record of outpatients with type 2 diabetes which used oral antidiabetic. The variables are patterns of use, type, dosage, frequency of administration, duration of administration, interactions with other drugs, efficacy, and rationality of use which are presented in frequencies and tabulations on SPSS 18.0. Results: The number of samples were 76 people. The majority of samples were women with average age 56-64 years. Patients were treated with metformin 1500 mg 3 times daily, in combination with gliclazide. Duration of oral antidiabetic was 7 days. Combination of drugs which the most often are Atorvastatin and Irbesartan. Appropriate dosage and frequency of administration found on 98.4% and 80.3% samples. Potent interaction was found on 56.5% samples. Adverse effects occured in 78% samples. Oral antidiabetic patents used in 98.4% samples. Only 55.3% use of effective oral antidiabetic which can be seen from GOS levels
