PEMBERIAN EKSTRAK DAUN SIRIH (Piper betle L) TERHADAP DAYA TETAS TELUR IKAN LELE DUMBO (Clarias gariepinus)
African catfish (Clarias gariepinus) is one type of fish that has the potential as fish consumption. There is an increasing demand for african catfish, therefore, catfish farming continues to be develoved. However, in the effort to cultivate catfish, many obstacles arise, one of them is the low degree of hatching of african catfish eggs, therefore the solution to increase the hatching of african catfish eggs is by soaking african catfish eggs with betel leaf extract. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of betel leaf extract on the hatching of African catfish eggs. The research was carried out at the experimental pond laboratory and fisheries basic laboratory, aquaculture study program, department of fisheries, faculty of agriculture, sriwijaya university in februari-march 202. The research method used completely randomized design (CRD) using four treatments of betel leaf extract and three replications, namely P0 (control) : 0 mL L-1, P1 : concentration 1.25 mL L-1, P2 : concentration 1.50 mL L-1, P3 : concentration 1.75 mL L-1. The results showed that P1 (1.25 mL L-1) was the highest percentage of hatching eggs 92,00%, resulting in the survival of african catfish larvae of 91.32%. The results of water quality measurement were, temperature 26.4-28.7oC, pH 6.2-7.3, dissolved oxygen 5.2-5.9 mg L-1, ammonia 0.010-0.015 mg L-1. Keywords: : african catfish, betel leaf extract, eggs hatchability.
