Anthracnose is a serious disease that can affect a variety of products, including cayenne pepper. The fungus Colletotrichum spp. causes this illness, which manifests itself as round black spots on the infected fruit. Controlling the disease's progression is crucial, and one method is biological control through the use of antagonistic fungi such as Trichoderma spp. The goal of this study was to see how successful liquid Trichoderma spp. cultures are at suppressing anthracnose disease in cayenne pepper. The study was conducted at Sriwijaya University's Phytopathology Laboratory, Department of Plant Pests and Diseases, Faculty of Agriculture. From September to December 2021, the research was carried out. The experiment was conducted with liquid cultures produced from eight Trichoderma spp. isolates. Exploration is triggered by the roots of a variety of plants. The liquid culture was previously treated to a process shaking and incubation for 1 week prior to conducting the Infection Inhibition Test. Chilies that had previously been wounded were immersed in Colletotrichum spp. conidia suspension with a density of 1 × 106 conidia / ml for 15 minutes and then dried for 1 hour. This study used a factorial totally randomized design with 8 Trichoderma spp. treatments, 1 control, and two treatment concentrations, 0.05% and 0.5% with 5 replications and 5 test cayenne peppers in each replication. In addition to the infection inhibition test, this study used the Multiple Culture technique to conduct a Colony Growth Inhibitory Activity Test to determine the antagonistic activity of each Trichoderma isolate. The liquid culture treatment suppressed the duration of the anthranose spots on the test chilies better than the control treatment, according to the results of the Infection Inhibition Test. Isolates GR11C, GYTF5, and GYR1 were found to have consistent suppressing ability. Meanwhile, the Growth Inhibitory Activity Test revealed that all Trichoderma spp. isolates were hostile to Colletotrichum spp. colonies on media.
