EFEKTIVITAS TERHADAP FISIOLOGIS TRANSPORTASI SISTEM TERTUTUP KELANGSUNGAN HIDUP DAN KONDISI INDUKAN IKAN TAMBAKAN ( temminckii ) He lostoma DENGAN BERBAGAI DENSITAS
Helostoma temmincki is one of the freshwater fish species from the tropical region, precisely Southeast Asia. In cultivation activity, the broodstock is sometimes imported from outside of the production region. Because of that, a better transportation system is needed to keep fish alive. This study aimed to know the survival and physiological conditions of H. temminckii brood stock with various densities on closed system transportation. This study used a completely randomized design with four treatments and five replications. The treatments were differences in density of H. temminckii with a length of 16.0±1.0 cm dan weight of 55.0±3.0 g in a plastic bags, namely 4 fishes L-1 (P1), 6 fishes L-1 (P2), 8 fishes L-1 (P3), and 10 fishes L-1 (P4) for 24 hours transportation and continued on recovery period for 7 days. The survival and physiological conditions of prospective aquaculture brood stock using closed transportation systems in each treatment showed a survival value of 100%. However, in the P4 treatment, the physiological conditions of aquaculture tended to decrease with an oxygen consumption level of 0.016±0.0015 mg O2 g-1 hour-1 and a blood glucose level of 120.67±14.29 mg dL-1. The water quality in all treatments at the end of the transportation was temperature 27.0-27.3°C, pH ranged 6.0-6.9, dissolved oxygen 4.7-6.3 mg L-1, carbon dioxide 10-18 mg L-1 and ammonia was between 0.3166-0.5983 mg L-1. During the recovery period, the survival rate for all treatments was 100%, but there was a significant difference in the level of oxygen consumption treatment P1 was lower and significantly different from treatment P3 and P4, and blood glucose levels in treatment P4 was higher and significantly different from treatment P1, P2, and P3, The absolute weight growth did not show a significant difference between treatments. The density of closed system transportation on survival and physiological condition of H. temminckii brood stock for 24 hours is recommended to use a density of 8 fishes L-1 that supports the recovery process well. The range of water quality during recovery from each treatment was temperature 27.1-30.3°C, pH ranged from 6.6-6.9, dissolved oxygen 5.8-6.4 mg L-1, carbon dioxide 4-12 mg L-1 and ammonia between 0.1932-0.2853 mg L-1.
