The objectives of this study were : 1) Calculating the rate of land conversion in Ogan Komering Ulu Regency, 2) Analyzing the relationship between rice field conversion and rice production in Ogan Komering Ulu Timur Regency, and 3) Analyzing the effect of increasing population, the number of industries, GRDP, and productivity of paddy fields on the amount of conversion of paddy fields that occurred at the district Ogan Komering Ulu Timur Regency. This research was conducted in Ogan Komering Ulu Timur Regency, South Sumatra. The location determination was carried out purposively considering that Ogan Komering Ulu Timur Regency is the district with the highest lowland rice productivity in South Sumatra. Data collection was carried out in February 2021. The research period was 2010 to 2019. The data collection method was historical data. The study's results, the conversion of paddy fields for the last ten years in Ogan Komering Ulu Timur Regency was 26,001 Ha. There is no cerrelation between the conversion of paddy fields to rice production in the Ogan Komering Ulu Timur Regencies. Based on the F test, East Ogan Komering Ulu Regency has a significant positive effect on the population, the number of industries, agricultural GRDP, and land productivity on the conversion of paddy fields. The results of the t-test in Ogan Komering Ulu Timur Regency showed there is a significant positive effect of population on land conversion, there is a significant adverse effect on the number of industries on land conversion, there is a significant negative effect of agricultural GRDP on the conversion of paddy fields, and there is a significant positive effect of population on land use.
