This study aims to determine the mathematical reasoning ability of class VIII students of SMP Negeri 6 Palembang on the material of building a flat side space with the PBL model. This type of research is a descriptive study with the research subject being 11 students of class VIII.6 SMP Negeri 6 Palembang. Data collection using a written test consists of 5 questions on the flat side of the block which are then analyzed according to indicators of mathematical reasoning ability, namely presenting mathematical statements in writing, manipulating mathematics, and drawing conclusions from a statement. Based on the results obtained with details that the indicator of mathematical reasoning ability that appears the most is manipulating mathematics with a percentage of 80.6%, while the lowest percentage of occurrences is drawing conclusions from a statement with a percentage of 16.4%. Overall, the average value of the mathematical reasoning ability test of Class VIII students of SMP Negeri 6 Palembang on the flat-sided geometry with the PBL model is 57.2% which is categorized as sufficient.
